Bio:	40 years as a specialist in international agricultural development economics, 35 with Colorado State University and 5 with Ford Foundation. Long term residences abroad in South Africa (9 years), Pakistan (8 yrs), Germany (5 yrs), France (3 yrs), Lesotho (3 yrs), The Gambia (1 yr), Costa Rica (1 yr), Mexico (1 yr) plus a year or more in each of 7 U.S. states. Military service: USAF Intel and Vietnam service 1963-65. BS: University of Arizona MA: Stanford University PhD: Michigan State University Avid wilderness devotee, former hunter, current hiker/camper/backpacker. Now starting third career as nonfiction writer.
Recent Clips:	"Evening Hymn," (my two children live a mystery among wild jackals in Pakistan) in Matter 14-Animals (Spring 2012). "Last Shot," (a world record achieved with such remorse that I quit hunting) in Pilgrimage, (August 2010) "Mahlapane's Story," (a fundamental life lesson from a village girl in Lesotho)on-line in Superstition Review, Issue 5 (April 2010) This essay won the NCW nonfiction competition for 2011. "Scraple," (celebration of a rare and unique traditional food," in Ruminate, No. 20, Summer 2011. "Requiem for the Night Sky," (a lament for the losses incurred when light pollution blots out the night sky), accepted in 2011 by Weber: The Contemporary West, future issue TBA "Ismail" (finding common human values with one of the poorest people in Pakistan) accepted by Memoir (and), Volume 10 (Spring 2012)
Currently looking to:	Finish my memoir: "Weeping Kings and Wild Hogs - Adventures of a Neocolonialist" based on 40 years overseas in US foreign assistance. Want to find an agent before mid-year. Targeting 2-3 essays published in literary journals in 2012. Need to find an agent before July 2012.
Short Bio:	Extensive international living and professonal experience, lots of time in the woods, wrote well and often in agricultural economics. Now I am a recovering scientist turing attention to creative nonfiction.
